Cheryl A. Casper
Dr. Cheryl A. Casper is a Professor Emeritus of Economics in the College of Business Administration and
Graduate School of Management at Kent State University. She has a B.A. in
Economics and History, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Case-Western Reserve University.
She joined the faculty of Kent State University in 1973 and retired in June
2008, having served as Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs, Acting Dean
of the College of Business Administration, and Associate Provost, as well as a
full-time faculty member in the department of Economics. Dr. Casper's
research interests are applied microeconomics, particularly the economics of
information and higher education.
Dr. Casper
has also been active in numerous university and community service
activities. She was an active a member of the Faculty Senate having served four
terms as Faculty Senate chair (1998-99; 1999-2000; 2006-07; 2007-08). She is also an active member of the Kent
State University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors;
is former chief negotiator and former chair of AAUP-KSU's Negotiations Committee;
and served as Chapter president (2002-2006). She is on the board of
directors of the Ohio Conference AAUP and was elected in 2005 to a second
three-year term on the AAUP National Council.
She is a 1996 graduate of Leadership Portage County and currently serves on the
Board of Directors of the Portage County Animal Protective League.
