The crowd was thin and tame but the band was ON and the sound in the club was excellent and clean. Jimbo was actually true to the songs and sang most of the lines (unlike my delightful experiences at SNZ shows.) Exquisite performances of Memphis Bound and Got Your Picture were the highlights for me. Greg from Hobex was brilliant (gotta run out and buy) Everyone sang, Jim took a turn on drums, and I didn't recognize Stu. Huh? I swear he was replaced with a decoy or something sinister. Doesn't he have long brown wavy hair? This guy (they called him Stu---HA!) had shoulder length wavy blond hair. I didn't know who he was until he was introduced. This scrambles my brain. Here, in no particular order, are just a fraction of the songs (sorry no set list this time, and there was much I didn't know): Keep your hands off her Sittin' on top of the world Jesus was a dying bedmaker Diggin my potatoes Got your picture Memphis bound Sop my gravy Jelly roll Don't know what you've got 'till it's gone Learn to read I got mine Was anyone else there who could fill in some of what I have missed? =dc= ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jul 1999 02:31:59 -0400 From: Dawn Carr Subject: RE: Computer: 1, Dawn: 0 The show at the Empty Bottle was full, but the Casino show was empty.
