WELCOME! This
project is designed for 6th grade. It aligns with the ODE
6th grade standard (ESS: Rocks Minerals and Soil; Igneous, Metamorphic
and Sedimentary rocks form in different ways) It
should take about two weeks to accomplish and ending in a “science Fair” type
of presentation of the information found throughout their research. Throughout
this project the students should think as if they were geologists finding out
about the rock types found and not found (if any) in Ohio. They will then
apply that knowledge to create a small presentation to a connection about the
rock formations (such as the coal industry) in Ohio. |
