West County Cork, Ireland.
Except as shown
for the Long-body and the Diamond (Square), dance the down or
falling
jig step (down-2-3).
Bar counts for
patterns are shown in bold.
The total bar count for each figure
includes an eight-bar introduction of music.
Long-body: Dancing a lively
jig-batter step (1
and 2 and 1-2-3), advance and retire
in waltz hold4 and dance two clockwise turns to the next position on the right4.
Dance the eight-bar pattern four times when dancing all
around the house (32 bars).
Dance the pattern
twice when dancing half-way around the house (16
bars).
Diamond (Square): With a pattern of step, step, 3-4-5/turn,
dance forward to the
first position on the right2. Dance
backwards to the next position on the right2, dance
forward to the next position on the
right2 and dance backwards to home2.
Throughout the set, gents
dance forward initially on the left foot and ladies dance forward
initially on the right foot.
