    This set, sometimes identified as CARAGH LAKE JIG SET, is from County Kerry, Ireland.
    Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot.
    Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.
    The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music.
    First side couple is on the left of the first top couple.
    Documentation is based upon workshops taught by Patrick O’Dea (May 2000, Pittsburgh,
        Pennsylvania USA) and Pat Murphy (November 1996, Catskills Mountains of New York USA).

    FIGURE 1 -- JIGS (136 BARS)  
Dance an ordinary jig step (down-2-3).
All couples: REPEAT "MARKER" lead around anticlockwise, holding crossed-hands in front (rights on top)8;
square-the-house :
          take waltz hold, with gents backs to the center, and dance a five-step
          (step, close, 1-2-3) to the gents’ left2; with the gents dancing backward,
          dance a five-step toward the next corner (gents step back on the right foot,
          ladies forward on the left foot ( back-the-man)2; dance to the opposite
          position, turning clockwise once, ending with the gents’ backs to the center4;
          repeat the five lines above to home8;
d i a m o n d :
          still in waltz hold, slide to the first position on the right (gents backs to
          center), turn one-quarter clockwise so ladies’ backs are to the center2;
          repeat the two lines above two times to home (ladies have their backs to
          the center when dancing to the second and fourth positions)6.

          all dance to home4.
First top couple: in waltz hold, advance and retire once (step, step, 3-4-5)4;
