Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot;
traditionally a battering step is danced throughout the set: heel-toe, heel-toe,
heel-toe, tap in front or just down, heel-toe, heel-toe, heel-toe, that is,
1-2-3 stamp, 1-2-3); the heel-toe which follows the tap is to be danced with the
same foot used for the tap (gents' right, ladies' left on the initial tap then heel-toe);
the heel-toe should be danced lightly/easily in a shuffling not a hopping or
mighty bouncing manner.
Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.
