This non-progressive, two-hand, 24-bar dance is to begin with dancers facing in a |
room-encircling ring with gents on the inside; partners face one another and | |
take right-hand-in-right. At some sites, however, couples dance-free in the | |
available space while others dance another reel pattern. | |

The line of dance is anticlockwise. |

The dance is often danced on the toes in a lively bouncing mode (ceili style). |

Gents begin forward on the left foot and ladies begin on the right foot. |
