Spring 2002 Human Sexuality

Following the Evaluation Reports are all of the comments I received from the students in each of the sections. I have copied those comments exactly as they appeared on the evaluation sheets because I believe it is important to view these comments in the exact way they were given. No attempts were made to correct any aspect of these statements (ie Lori → Laurie, professor → instructor, etc...).

Aspects of this course that were especially successful?

-Laurie’s teaching strategy was very successful. She made it fun and interesting at the same time.

-I loved all the homeworks because they were fun.

-videos, class activities

-I learned many valuable “techniques”

-the visual aides

-very interesting!

-the professor (sic) taught students the importance of sex. She was very informative.

-the jeopardy reviews were fun and extremely helpful. The in-class activities made class interesting and fun and really got points across.

Any comments about class management (syllabus, examinations, class cancellations, office hours, etc.)?

-she graded everything very promptly

-the exams varied in degrees of hardness, but no big deal.

-everything was manageable and reasonable

Additional comments on the instructor or the course?

-the instructor did a very good job of making the class interactive (not just lecture) and getting all students involved. I believe all students should have to take this class; it is a topic that definitely affects college life. (make it a freshman orientation class).

-I had a good time in this class. I think it should be a mandatory class for freshman.

-she is a great teacher and I learned a whole lot! I thoroughly enjoyed this class and highly recommend it to anyone!

-kinda vague on test information, know everything? Not fair

-she is very innovative in her teaching methods

-Professor (sic) Wagner knew the material well & also made the class fun!

-Laurie is awesome. Give her a raise!!!

-thanks for being a real teacher who teaches.

-the instructor was great, the reason I missed so many classes was because the students in an upper division class were acting like it was junior high. It was irritating and distracting. This class should not be upper division since older students are obviously not mature enough to handle it.

-I sat in a human sexuality class at Akron U and you are an excellent teacher compared to her. Thank you for making class fun! Good luck in the future.

-Laurie is a really great person and she is easy to talk to. I like her.
