BT and NT are reciprocal relationships. F This indicates terms which are related to (RT) the main entry term in a non- generic/non-specific manner. Each non-preferred term has an entry like the following: G Transfer Hosts H USE VECTORS G This is a non-preferred term. It is distinguishable from a preferred term by being in regular face and in lowercase letters. H This denotes the preferred term which should be used instead of this non- preferred term (USE). UF and USE are reciprocal relationships.ALPHABETIZATION RULES
This thesaurus uses word by word alphabetization, according to the following rules: 1. Nothing comes before something. Spaces file before characters. 2. Numerals were ignored unless they were the distinguishing feature of the terms. If this is the case, they were filed in numerical order.USING THE HIERARCHICAL DISPLAY
This part of the thesaurus displays preferred terms groups as described by the BT-NT relationships. Terms closer to the left hand margin, that is, those with fewer leader dots are the broader terms. The more leader dots, the more specific the term.
