Theory III MacGamut Installation

 

You will need:

  1. MacGamut CD

  2. Flash drive

SPRING 2011 FIX for Harmonic Dictation

  1. In your MacGamut folder, make a copy of your MGS file and name it: Theory IV <yourname> Harmonic Dictation.mgs

  2. Download into the same folder Theory IV Presets 2011

  3. With the MacGamut CD in the CD drive double click on your MGS file

  4. MacGamut will launch and you will get the Check Name and Presets window

  5. Select CHANGE PRESETS

  6. From the file window go to your MacGamut Folder on your flash drive and select the Theory IV Presets 2011.mgp

  7. Agree with the subsequent screens and you should be ready to go

  8. When working on harmonic Dictation launch this MGS file, when doing all other MacGamut levels, launch your previous MGS file.

  9. You will now need to email two mgs files

 

 

Procedure

  1. Install MacGamut on your computer

  2. Obtain the MGS file (see directions on the MacGamut CD)

  3. Create a folder on your flashdrive and name it <Yourname> MacGamut

  4. Copy the Start.Mgs file to the folder on your flash drive

  5. Rename the Start.MGS file <yourname.mgs>

  6. Download the following files to the “MacGamut folder on your flash drive:

    Theory IV Melodies 2003.mgm

    Theory IV Presets MG6.mgp

    Theory IV Progressions 2003.mgh

    Theory IV Rhythms 2003.mgr

  7. With the MacGamut CD in the CD drive double click on your MGS file

  8. MacGamut will launch and you will get the Check Name and Presets window

  9. Select CHANGE PRESETS

  10. From the file window go to your MacGamut Folder on your flash drive and select the Reset Original Presets 2003.mgp

  11. Agree with the subsequent screens - This resets all of your levels to zero

  12. Quit MacGamut and restart MacGamut from you MGS file

  13. Select CHANGE PRESETS again. 

  14. From the file window go to your MacGamut Folder on your flash drive and select the Theory III Presets MG6 2011.mgp

  15. Agree with the subsequent screens and you should be ready to go!
