A Baroque Banquet. Retrieved from http://www.baroquecds.com/baroquebanquet.html
This website features over 2 hours of music samples from various composers of the Baroque era. To listen to the samples, simply click on the catalog number (i.e. “BACH 707 Tr 5”), not the title (i.e. “Concerto 595 Pedal-hpschd”). Most samples are in .mp3 format; your browser should have no trouble playing them.
Thornburgh, Elaine. The Era of Baroque Music. Retrieved from http://trumpet.sdsu.edu/M151/Baroque_Music1.html
Although this website isn’t very pretty, it is filled with information about Baroque music and is a good introduction to the topic. It features information about the time period, the instruments commonly associated with the era, the music styles, and includes a chronological list of key composers (and architects, writers, artists, scientists, and political figures) as well as a glossary of terms. The second part contains links to audio examples and a list of recommended listening.
Baroque Music Page. Retrieved from http://www.baroquemusic.org
Like the previous resource, the design of this website is very “busy” making parts of it hard to read. That being said, it does offer a wealth of information on the era, including a number of biographies of major composers as well as links to audio samples of their key works. It also provides information on musicians, instruments, performance styles, etc. The articles/sections range from broad topics (“Baroque Composers and Musicians”) to very specific ones (“The Lute-harpsichord: A Forgotten Instrument”). This website was obviously a labor of love and that shows in the comprehensiveness of the subjects presented.

Pandora is a free service and will work with most web browsers. You are not required to register in order to listen to the station. This resource will allow you to listen to hours of free, high quality Baroque recordings at your leisure. Enjoy!
List of Baroque composers with free public domain sheet music. Retrieved from http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Baroque_composers
This list of Baroque composers features free music scores available for download. It is part of the International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP). The downloads are available in high quality PDF format. Another good resource for anyone who reads music and can use scores to augment their other research. It also functions as a nice list of notable Baroque composers.
