When the information could be located we have tried to include the following: For individuals: name, dates, address (not given here for privacy reasons), central work locations, brief information on the contributions of the individual, and information on the location of his or her personal/professional papers. (If the individual was living and had not made a decision on the deposit of his or her papers, an effort was made to encourage deposit in some appropriate depository.) For organizations: name or the organization, active dates, address, names of persons from the pioneers list who were involved with the organization, brief description of central contributions/activities of the organization to information science, locations of any archival papers of the organization. Links have been provided within the web pages to and from individuals and organizations mentioned. Use the link "Index of Information Science Pioneers," at the bottom of the page, to view a complete alphabetical listing of the pioneers presently included in the project. From the index each name is linked to their specific information
