4.2 Feedback and Student Response

Back

This video clip highlights my ability to provide feedback to aid students in the development of the desired skill.  The student wearing the gray sweatpants was struggling in this lesson to get the jump rope over his head to jump over it.  He was not snapping his wrists, so the jump rope was stopping at his feet.  I provided him with feedback and simplified the task so that he could get accustomed to jumping as the rope hit the ground.

In this clip, the student with the gray sweatpants is continuing to practice the simplification task.  He used my feedback and he is demonstrating more successes.  This clip also demonstrates my ability to use positive pinpointing to result in the desired behaviors.  The student in the blue shirt was sitting down.  Instead of using a desist, I pinpointed the students working hard, and the student in the blue shirt immediately rose and began jumping.

Back

In this video, a student was catching themselves in the leg with the jump rope because he was keeping his arms wide.  I instructed the student to keep his arms in closer to his body so that the jump rope would be closer to the ground and therefore, making it easier to jump over.  After hearing this feedback, the student was immediately able to jump continuously backwards multiple times at a fast speed.

Back

The student in this video was having the same difficulties as the student above in the gray sweatpants.  This student was having difficulty snapping his wrists to keep the rope moving over his body.  I simplified the task as I had done for the other student.  After using my feedback, the student began jumping with more success.
