GERMAN POTTERY
Ca ?
Although
orange-red is the most frequently encountered radioactive pottery glaze
other colors also occur. Depending on the percentage of sodium or ammonium
diuranate and the firing temperature a number of colors from ivory through
yellow to orange, red, brown, green, or even black can be produced. This
German made piece is possibly a humidor. It is the yellow glaze that is
radioactive. |
