Places

Some places are instantly recognizable by their architecture or natural features. Each time I go to a new place, I like to try to get a unique or unexpected image from another vantage point other than the most familiar one.

Nature

The wonders of the natural world offer delights not only to the visitor, but also to the photographer. Some places, like the Grand Canyon, or the Caribbean beaches, offer photographers an unlimited choice in light, color and texture which make taking a bad photograph almost impossible.

Animals

Animals present more of a challenge, often being elusive and too quick to capture. However serendipity and patience often reward photographers with amazing images.

People

People can be a bit easier to photograph, as many often are willing subjects. The key to successful photographs of our fellow humans is often to just take a large number of pictures in sequence, hoping for that elusive fascinating, fleeting expression.
