Literacy related sites for educators
The library is a room or building where a collection of books and other informational materials is kept for reading and reference. A public or private institution is in charge of the care and circulation of this collection. The collection of books is usually quite large and therefore it systematically arranged for reading or reference. The cataloging method used to be the Dewey decimal system but has been changed to The Library of Congress method. This system uses the alphabet to categorize subjects and then numbers to organize within each category.

This site is for K-12 students to learn how the library functions. And will give a more realistic sense of being in a library while on the internet for research and learning. The goal of the site is to educate students on where to find the information they need, both in the library and on-line. I wanted the site to be a more concrete example of a library, something I haven't yet seen on the Web. At the moment the navigation of the site is to start at the library shelves. Choose any category and the link goes to a page where a definition of that type of book is the focus. Each page contains links to sites that contain that particular kind of information.
