You can't separate the history of the people from the history of the place, nor the history of the place from the history of the people. This page is devoted to the big cities and small towns, places that have changed and some that are pretty much the same.
My immediate family's story takes place almost entirely in Ohio during the 20th century. Earlier stories reach to other states and, eventually (in reverse time), other countries. I have visited quite a number of the hometowns of my ancestors, and I'll continue to include maps, photos, and links for further information.
