 BACKLIGHT

Use this setting when you are recording a subject that is darker than the surrounding scene, when you are shooting in a shadowed area, or when the light source is in back of your subject.

  • Press the BACKLIGHT button while you are recording.  You will see an oval indicator on the right side of the viewfinder.

  • When lighting conditions return to normal, press BACKLIGHT again to disengage.  The viewfinder indicator will disappear.
