Time SignaturesPulse, or Beat - is steady and predictable Meter/Pulses can be organized in patterns of: 2 called DUPLE | one two - one two - etc | 3 called Triple | one two three - one two three - etc | 4 called Quadruple | one two three four - one two three four - etc |
- Any note value can be assigned to the beat.
- If the note values are not dotted the meter is called simple and the beat is normally subdivided in two.
- If the a dotted value is assigned to the beat it is called compound and is normally subdivided into 3
