This
web site is structured primarily to enhance the Programming I course which
includes programming logic, the study of programming languages, and an introduction to
the Visual Basic program. It is detailed enough for the beginner
programmer to learn the fundamentals of Visual Basic and to create simple
projects. The course includes a Web Quest focusing on the application
of the appropriate programming language to use for an assignment. This
website makes the assumption that Visual Basic is the best choice of
programming language and takes the student on a short journey of creating
a form and basic code so they are versed enough to create an assignment:
Hello World. At times reference will be made to an additional on-line tutorial or
project notes. These items are only available to my students on the
school network. If an item is posted on the web, I will provide the access information in the instructions. Click
here to link to the
course objectives.
Steps to complete the course:
-
Click on the Web Quest link and complete the
lesson on Computer Science Research and Development. This will
provide you with the fundamental skills needed to determine and select the
best programming language for a given problem.
-
Link back to this website and proceed with the
lesson on Visual Basic. At the end of this lesson, you will be
presented with a Hello World project where you will apply your Visual
Basic knowledge and programming skills.
-
At any time you need assistance or have a question,
complete the Feedback form or email me. If it is during regular school
hours, see me during a study hall or between classes.
