Welcome to...
Geovisualization Project Main

I know what you are thinking...

Geovisualization? What does that mean!?

Well, Geovisualization is a fancy name for Advanced Cartography, the advanced art of map making. With the rapid shift in technology, many people have put away their pencils and exchanged them for a computer. Behold! The birth of GIScience!

The goals of this course are to learn the different compenents of Internet geography, with a stressed focus on Internet Cartography and Internet GISystems. We will learn how to design and implement a Web site using geographical data and GIS-based or mapping-based software.

Prior knowledge of computer cartography and GIS was required before enrolling in this course.

Course Objectives

One of the goals of this class is to create a series of maps illustrating population change in the state of our choice. For this, I have chosen Utah. For basic information on Utah, please visit the "My State" page, you can find the link on the top navigation.
