This series in general has had it's fair share of controversies, but in this instance, I think it's best to talk about the newest game in the series. Now, there has been a lot of controversy specifically with a mission where you must torture a man by pulling his teeth out, shocking him, along with other methods in order to get information.
However, the violence doesn't end there. The entire campaign involves committing robberies, murders, and drug trafficking. The free mode is just as violent if not more because players are allowed to free roam and rob stores, kill people, and cause chaos throughout the game.
So why do gamers even play games that offer little to no moral value? It is because games like this one give gamers the opportunity to do things that they never could in real life. Nobody in the real world can commit a crime and get away with it, but in the game, it's commonplace! I actually find the game helpful when I'm in a bad mood and just looking to blow off some steam and cause a little chaos of my own. However, this goes back to the theme of responsibility for gamers. We as gamers must remember that these actions are not condoned in any way in real life and have serious consequences.
Let's end all this with a light-hearted, yet slightly violent video, shall we?
