Aligning Artifact

5.1

Select or create appropriate assessments that will measure student achievement of goals and objectives.

Authentic method (formal or informal) of assessing student learning is documented and aligned with goals.

Aligning Assessment

5.2

Use a variety of appropriate assessments to evaluate student learning before, during, and after instruction.

More than one method (peer, self, or teacher) for assessing student learning is used to inform instruction.

Varied Assessment

5.3

Utilize the reflective cycle to implement change in teacher performance, student learning, and instructional goals and decisions.

Teacher candidates demonstrate consistent use of the reflective cycle involving the description, justification, and critique of the teaching performance.  Descriptions are clear and well written.  Teaching goals are aligned with lesson critique and there is evidence/data to indicate change based upon reflective cycle.

Change by “reflecting in action” both during and following instruction in order to impact student learning.
